Just arrived – My Amazing New Kitchen Gadget
Ice Maker Extraordinaire!
A new kitchen gadget has arrived in my house and I wanted to share, because I love it.
Why a kitchen gadget? The chances are pretty good that you do a few more things around your home besides decorate it. My guess is that you spend a decent amount of time in the kitchen. Because, don’t we all?
And, if you’re like me, especially in the Summer, you have issues with ICE. If you don’t own a fridge with an ice maker, you’re probably tired of running out for ice or filling those itty bitty ice cube trays.
I know I was. But, no more!
So here’s my favorite new addition, and as kitchen gadgets go, this one is fast becoming an all-time favorite: my Gladstone ice maker. This little counter-top powerhouse can make 50 pounds of ice in a day, it’s super quiet and it produces the first cubes within 6 minutes.
As a result, I’m never without ice now, even if I need it at a moment’s notice.
That makes me a happy person, because it’s made my Summer life more efficient. And who wouldn’t appreciate that?
So, I have a few gifts for you!

2. Recipes
I’ve been honing my favorite martini for a long time and I think I finally have it down so I’m sharing my secret receipe with you. But I gotta warn you, you’re going to love it. And for those of you who may be interested in a non-adult beverage, I’ve included the virgin version of the drink below as well. Enjoy!
Blueberry Lemondrop Martini
Supplies
- 3/4 ounce Ginger liqueur or brandy (I use Canton)
- 1/4 ounce Limoncello
- 2 ounces Blueberry vodka
- 2 ounces Lemon soda
- Splash of lemon juice
- Ice to mix
- Sugar for rim
- Lemon wedge & blueberries for garnish
Instructions
- Rinse your martini glass in water and place in the freezer for 10 minutes. It keeps the glass cold longer.
- Remove the glass from the freezer. Place a layer of sugar in a dish or shallow bowl and dip just the rim of the glass in the sugar. If you didn't freeze your glass, cut a lemon wedge and moisten the rim first.
- Pour Canton, Limoncello & vodka into a shaker filled with ice & shake vigorously.
- Pour the contents of your shaker into your martini glass. It should fill it to the brim.
- Add a lemon wedge and blueberry garnish.

Thanks so much Shanna! I love this ice maker, it makes it that much easier to create my signature drinks (which I also love lol).
That is AWESOME!!! We just purchased a new home with a huge deck, fire pit, and basement party area. As soon as we are allowed to have gatherings, we are going to have a gathering – this would come in so handy! Thanks for sharing!
Rachel, thank you! A year later and I still love this gadget, it comes in handy every single week. Enjoy your new space!
If you want to use the photo it would also be good to check with the artist beforehand in case it is subject to copyright. Best wishes. Aaren Reggis Sela
