Welcome! I’m Gail. In 2017 my husband and I had the opportunity of a lifetime (some would think)…
We had always planned to renovate our kitchen when we retired. That project had been on our ‘to-do’ list for 25 years. The time came and yup, we actually retired.
As we started our kitchen plan, I realized that we had the time, money, inclination and ability to do more. A lot more.
So we renovated the whole house.
In a little less than a year, we transformed our long neglected, creaky old Victorian into our favorite place on earth. All the improvements not only gave us a prettier place to live, they improved our lives in hundreds of ways.
It turns out that you really can get a better life through a better house. What a gift.
I think almost anyone do a lot of what we've done, and reap many of the same benefits. I know, I know. We're retired and 'have all the time in the world' (I wish that were true). But seriously, if I had known years ago how much small, incremental changes in my house could improve my life I would have been all over it years ago like white on rice.
So, I created this blog to share all we’ve done and learned. And to help you make improvements even if you have little time and less money.
I hope to either inspire you to take on that project (you know the one) or to just give you a few ideas in your own quest for a pretty, organized JOYful home.
